Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation met with Scholars of BRRI

On September 27th, Rustem Mardanov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan, met with Hu Biliang, dean of Belt and Road Research Institute (BRRI) of Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Pan Qingzhong, Jingshi Distinguished Professor of BNU who attended the Third Forum on Small Business of the SCO and BRICS Regions in Russian Federation.. They exchanged opinions on how education should serve the construction of the Belt and Road. Senior officials from the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bashkortostan attended the meeting.

Prime Minister Mardanov welcomed Hu Biliang and Pan Qingzhong; briefed them on President Xi Jinping's visit to Ufa in 2015 for the SCO and BRICS summit; and recalled his participation in the Belt and Road lecture series at our university last year. He expressed his appreciation for all the work done in the field of construction of the Belt and Road. He said that the research on the Belt and Road should better serve the reality, and suggested that the BRRI should actively carry out cooperative research and teaching with well-known colleges and universities in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Aiming at the key and difficult problems in the Construction of the Belt and Road, the BRRI should work with other institutes and put forward plans as references for the decision-makers of both sides. He wanted  the BRRI to introduce Baskertostan in China in order to attract more Chinese companies to invest in fields of roads, bridges, energy infrastructure, steel, aerospace, and so on.

Introduced by Prime Minister Mardanov, Hu Biliang and Pan Qingzhong then met and had in-depth exchanges with President Nikolay D. Morozkin of Bashkiir National University on the 28th, and reached agreement on issues related to joint research in the field of the Belt and Road construction. Hu Biliang and Pan Qingzhong also discussed the issue of economic cooperation on constructing the Belt and Road with Sergey Novikov, the Minister of Economic Development of the Bashkortostan Republic. They also visited the Development Group of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

At the forum on the afternoon of the 28th, Hu Biliang and Pan Qingzhong delivered speeches on "Seizing the opportunities of the digital economy to realize the leapfrog development of small and medium-sized enterprises" and "Finding successful methods for innovative development from failure." More than 1000 delegates from 13 countries, including China, Russia, India, Brazil, South Africa, Kazakhstan, and more than 20 entities of the Russian Federation attended the forum.
