各位亲爱的同学们、朋友们，很高兴今年以这样一种特殊的方式为你们送上祝福。作为新兴市场研究院的院长，我衷心祝贺你们圆满完成“发展中国家硕士项目”，顺利毕业！在克服了诸多困难后，尤其是面对新冠肺炎疫情的严峻挑战，你们仍顺利完成了学业。衷心祝贺你们每一个人！当前疫情仍在一些国家里肆虐，请继续保护好你们自己和家人的健康。同时请不要忘记，你们是未来的世界领袖，请牢记你们的责任和义务，请牢记对他人、对社会、对国家、乃至对全球的责任。我期盼未来能够再次与你们相见、亲切握手；我衷心祝福你们及家人、祝福你们国家的全体人民都身体健康、一切顺利！再次送上我最真挚的祝福，毕业快乐！谢谢大家！

Hello! My dear students, my dear friends. Nice to see you this way, a very special way that you never expected before. Even though I’m still very happy today, as the dean of the institute, to celebrate your successful accomplishment of the program, after overcoming so many difficulties, particularly COVID-19. Therefore my sincere congratulations to all of you. As we know that the pandemic is still going on in some of your countries. So please continue to protect well yourself and your families. At the same time, you should never forget you are future leaders, then you should think about others. You should do something for others, for your communities, for your countries, for the world. I look forward very much to seeing you again face to face, shaking your hands one day in a new future. I wish you and your family, all the people of your countries in good health and all the best. Again, my congratulations to all of you. I’m so happy. Thank you so much!

Dear students, congratulations! You are going to graduate, and you experienced a special time this semester. And you are the first cohort experienced online courses, you are the first cohort experienced online thesis defense, and also you are the first cohort come to China and have to stay  in the dorm. You are the best cohort. You finished everything with high standards. And you thesis will be published because of your great efforts and your great work. And I’m proud of you. You witness the history. And what you have experienced will be recorded in our memory forever. And you will go back to your home, and I wish you a great great future, that’s a bright future. The courses were well structured. We were taught by qualified teachers from different parts of the world. I’m looking forward to applying the knowledge I learned from the classes into practice. "Thank you" to Beijing Normal University and Emerging Markets Institute for all knowledge and suggestions giving to us, and even to the challenges for the outbreak of Corona Virus, we have been protected day to day. We would like to say thank you for all the help to us. Thank you! 谢谢你！中国加油！

首先我想感谢胡必亮教授、潘庆中教授、以及所有学院教职员工。感谢你们在今年这个特殊时期里的辛勤付出。当我们战胜困难、实现自我目标时，成就感和收获感也加倍增长！在这段特殊时期里，学院安排了线上课程和远程学位论文答辩，确保每一个人能顺利进行学业，这是非常不容易的。

First of all I want to thank professor Hu, professor Pan, and all the EMI staff, you work very hard in this difficult time. When we overcome adversity, I reach our goals, the satisfaction is double. You arranged the online courses and remote thesis defense during this time. It’s a very very very difficult task.

在今年新冠肺炎疫情挑战下，我顺利毕业了！感谢新兴市场研究院提供的大量帮助。在疫情期间，学校、学院和老师们丝毫不放松对我们个人健康和学业进度的监督管理，那些因为疫情暂时无法返回中国、返回校园的学生也得到了无微不至的关怀帮助。最后，我深深感谢北京师范大学和新兴市场研究院大家庭。我们一起创造了历史！

I successfully graduated under this pandemic situation. I appreciate a lot of help from Emerging Markets Institute. During the COVID-19, our university and our teachers ensured our health and study, and they helped some of students who can’t go back to China and can’t go back to campus. And finally I wish to express my deepest gratitude to Beijing Normal University and Emerging Markets Institute family. We made history!

我会把在“发展中国家硕士项目”学习到的知识经验好好应用于建设公共事务中，成为一名对社会有责的公民。

很荣幸能成为北京师范大学新兴市场研究院2020届的学员，与新的伙伴一起工作、接触新的文化、在新的环境里生活、克服不同的困难和挑战，这些经历给了我难忘的体验。在未来的发展中，我将好好借鉴在中国学习到的知识和经验。

It has been a great pleasure being a part of the Beijing Normal University Emerging Markets Institute Class of 2020. Working with new people, meeting different cultures, working on the different settings, overcoming difficulties and working under the pressures have gave me a experience of lifetime. For the future, I plan to emulate positivity learned from here and apply what I learned academically to outside.

在“发展中国家硕士项目”学习的经历使我深入发掘了自己的能力和个性，我相信不仅是我，其他学员一定也是这样。

This program helps me a lot to learn about myself and to grow my personality. It was a great experience as the first time for me and I think for everyone.

在“发展中国家硕士项目”一年的学习生活经历是极其精彩的、也是富有挑战性的。在这里我们学习了大量专业知识、实践经验，并进行了多次田野调查和管理实务活动。在未来，我期待项目给予我的知识经验将有助于我建设自己的国家、发展肯尼亚和中国的友好合作关系。

It has been a wonderful and exciting year and it’s also a very challenging part of my life. We have been taken through a lot of practical experiences, field visit and practical management. My expectation of this program is going to practice the knowledge for developing my country, and also for developing the relationship of Kenya and China for future.

在北京师范大学生活的经历是美妙的，因为学校和学院的教职员工对我们每一个人都提供了大量支持帮助。我期待未来能推进中国和坦桑尼亚的友好合作关系，并更好地投身我自己国家的建设。衷心感谢学院提供给我们的在华学习机会和这一年的生活经历，衷心感谢这一年里我们共同创造的中国记忆！

Life in Beijing Normal University is wonderful because the EMI staff are very helpful and supportive. I’m looking forward to developing the cooperation between Tanzania and China,  and to committing myself to the development of my country. Special thanks for giving us the scholarship and the chance to study in China. I appreciate the memory we remembered in China.
